Hello, I know this is cliche as hell but.. I came out in January and since then, I haven't had a girlfriend because I'm unsure where to meet other girls who likes girls, all my friends are straight, confused or gay men. So where can I go? is there like a group I can join or something? this probably sounds stupid but help would be appreciated SO MUCH. Much love

Have you heard of pink sofa? It'a a dating lesbian site. Good for frienships as well as relationships. There's also Lesbian Open house on thursay nights in Melbourne, which runs on the 1st and 3rd thursday of every month. It's where queer folk go and have dinner and have a discussion afterwards. Also, there's the gay bar scene...always plenty of lesbians there:)

For young women, there are also a number of social groups - check out the community postings on Joy FM or the ALSO directory - available in Hares and Hyenas bookshop. There's also a young GLBTI choir, who are a nice bunch - they run through the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus.

Sites like this are a great start, I love the layout of it. http://www.lesbianlexicon.org is also a great new lesbian social networking and dating site. All features are free including live chat, blogs, games, lesbian personal ads, Lesbian events calendar and more. GLBT community groups, lesbian artists and performers are also welcome to promote themselves as well as their upcoming events for free. It is really a site for the community.
