I'm 18 and I have tried to put myself out there. I've been to DT'S Hotel, The Peel, IQ, and attended Minus18 and Midsumma events. They all have been negative experiences. The last time I went out this guy told me that I'm not "cultured" whatever that means? But it hasn't helped my confidence. Any advice or suggestion please? Laura

yeah, you're definitely not the only one. i bet there are lots of people out there who have the same problem too, some just hide it because they're not 'out' yet, or they don't know who to ask. but hey, the first step was making a profile on this page? next step, making friends, then making more, then meeting up, then keeping friends, thennn going out together, seeking more people in the 'gay scene,' and getting more into it. i hope i made sense.

well ladies, i have a suggestion... we could possibly organise a get together in the hopes of ridding ourselves of this problem. we all seem to be in a similar boat, so if people are interested, we could organise a dinner, and then maybe head out to a lesbian event? it'd be a start to getting to know other queer ladies and get 'out' there, so to speak... what do you think?

Hey Ladies, I know how you feel, its not easy. The thing is, you need to find like minded or at least open minded people. If you have fun at pinkalicious and want somewhere else to hang out, I'm going to a party on Boxing Day at the Penny Black in Brunswick, would love to meet you... It's posted on the "nightlife calander", check it out. xo

Sadly no one gave any feedback so it didn't end up happening. But for those of you who are around on Boxing Day, the Penny Black is a really cool place! Maybe you can organise a meet there, and hopefully it follows through :-)

Hey guys, I'm moving to melbourne in mid jan and won't know anyone so if you guys end up meeting up after that I would be keen to tag along. I'm only just coming out in Adelaide so I'm not really involved in the lesbian scene here either (not that there's much of one!).
