There's a new webseries called Venice at www.venicetheseries.com and the main character is a lesbian.

There are about 27 36 of us in Aus (that we know of) watching at the moment and the community it has built already is awesome. Everyone's really friendly and inclusive, including fans of the cast, the cast themselves and the crew.

What makes this series stand out is that its a project of passion and they are really interacting with fans and listening to what we want. And supporting other artists and musicians by asking for them to submit their work to them. They are big users of Twitter and interact with fans every day through their own Twitter addies or @venicetheseries. They also have a social networking site set up at www.venicetheseries.com

Given that we're Aussies you may not yet be familiar with Crystal Chappell or Jessica Leccia. But, if you're a lesbian like me, I can't believe you missed that L memo! Chappell was voted the number one soap star in the US this year and for anyone who has seen the Otalia backstory on YouTube, it's a no-brainer as to why. She and Leccia had amazing chemistry in that storyline, which is now finished. But given how good (voted sexiest couple in daytime poll) they were together, that pairing had to continue into Venice. And that was because the actors and a huge global following wanted it, not just us!

The first episode of series started o n Saturday, 5 December and it can be viewed at www.venicetheseries.com. If you decide to watch it and you're a member of Twitter, it might be also be worthwhile following @natjaku, @crystalchappell, @kimmyt22, @nycwriterchick to get in on the conversation and excitement this is generating.
Hope to see you there! ![]()
